A New Yorker recently moved to Auckland, I can still hear the sounds of the "twittering" tiles as my Hong Kong native mom and aunties played for hours into the night at our Wong family reunions. Somehow I never learned to play - the table was always full and my cousins were far more interesting at the time!
Cut to early 2019....a group of my NYC friends were feverishly playing the American version and it didn't take long for this small group to mushroom into a large gang. The summer of 2019 was all about racking the tiles with many glasses of rosé...and non-stop laughs from day into night.
Now I'm here here to spread the American Mah Jongg fun and show you just how simple the game really is. If anything, it's a great way to spend time with good friends....and I promise it won't be long until you declare your first "Mah Jongg"!
